CBS style P-Bass

Our pre CBS series P-Bass  pickups are based on the later 1960’s to early 1970’s  models.

Smaller diameter .187" American made Alnico 5 magnets hand wound with single build 42 gauge magnet wire to late 60’s specs. PVC coated lead wires. Black covers, foam height adjustment cushions and hardened mounting screws are included.
Standard windings are ~ 9.5.k 
We also offer custom windings to suit your specific needs.

Our faithful recreation of the earliest  Precision Bass pickups is composed of black fiber board flat ware and US made  Alnico 5 magnets. The bobbin is hand wound with 42 gauge magnet wire and  wrapped with white string which is wax potted in period correct  "Lamp Black" wax mixture to reproduce period correct tone and appearance.

DCR = 7.7k 

P-Bass Standard

Our Standard series P-Bass pickups are based on the early 1950’s to mid 1960’s classics.The bobbins are constructed using the larger pre CBS size .195” diameter American made Alnico 5 rod magnets and black fiber board which are then double dipped in lacquer to protect the material from moisture and to achieve the authentic look of the early originals. 
The bobbins are then hand wound with 42 gauge heavy build magnet wire to recreate the big bottom end that the Precision bass is noted for.  Push-back cloth wiring. Black covers, foam height adjustment cushions and hardened mounting screws are included
Standard winding's are ~ 11.0k

Split J-Bass

Split J-Bass Humbucking pickups can be wound with either 42 gauge magnet wire for a late 60's/early 70's era tone or with 43 gauge magnet wire which produces more output, bottom end and and mi-drange. Black cover and mounting hardware are included.

J-Bass Pre CBS Style

Because later pre CBS J-Bass pickups vary from year to year in regards to  wire type and output we chose to build on the very best examples from the many repairs/rewinds we have done over the years. Pre CBS style (1960 to ~1965) Large diameter .195” diameter American made Alnico V magnets, black fiber flat work hand wound heavy build 42 gauge magnet wire. Cloth covered hookup wires.Black covers and mounting hardware included.   Bridge DCR - 8.6k/ Neck DCR-7.5k
